Description: ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company
has an immediate opening at the Corporate Strategic
Research Laboratories located in Annandale, NJ. The
selected research scientist will join our research team
focusing on the processes controlling the formation and
evolution of porous solids, and the resulting impact on
their structural and transport properties, such as
porosity, permeability, fracture toughness, as well as
acoustic and electromagnetic wave transmission.
Preferably, the successful candidate will have skills and
experience developing both theory and experiments that
complement numerical approaches used for investigating
those physical processes. An initial desired focus is on
the initiation and growth of fractures with the goal of
linking state-of-the-art computational models with
theoretical models and experimental observations to
develop tools to predict and control fracture evolution
in a variety of materials. Application Instructions: ExxonMobil offers an excellent working environment and a competitive compensation and benefits package.
