- CSIRO Ø Interesting application of
Quantum Field Theory concepts Ø Development of new
method of renormalization Ø Important
applications to complex systems and geology Ø Long term career
possibilities Based
on familiar Quantum Field Theory techniques such as path
integrals, effective action and renormalizations; you
will work closely with the Earth Science Division (CESRE)
Science Leader on research into new methods of data
assimilation and understanding of complex systems. The
main applications of interest are the assimilation of
geophysical measurements with physics based models of
geologic processes. The methods are inspired by
recent advances in image texture recognition based on
iterative wavelet transformations. The successful
candidate is expected to advance the analytic theory and
its industrial relevant applications.
