Assistant Professor of Physics – Northwestern University

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Northwestern University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor, to commence in Fall 2010. We seek a theoretician in the area of quantum state manipulation. We are seeking outstanding candidates with a background in one or more of the fields of atomic, molecular and optical physics, confined quantum gases, and condensed matter physics.  The successful applicant will be expected to establish a strong, vibrant research program and have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2009, but applications will continue to be considered until the position is filled.
